N00b question
I bypasted my muffler, i.e. cut it off, will this harm my car in any way? I'm in the process of finding an exhaust system but money is kinda tight right now.
Any advise would be great thanks.

fill your trunk full of exhaust gass but other than that it shouldent... If you have an rs look into getting a wrx exhaust 2.25" tubing is ideal for rs and thats just the size of wrx exhaust. best of all you can pick em up on ebay for $50

this is mine with a dual glass pack muffler, borla header, and removed the resonator in the wrx exhaust.

sorry the sound quality sux... still not used to using my recorder
oh , forgot to mention close to wide open throtel my cold air intake makes a bit of noise... but the exhaust is low and bassie.. it sounds like the ba$tard child of a porche and a v8 firebird.

if you just replace the muffler with a wrx one it will have a nice tone but it won't be ANY louder, so you won't hear it.
the sound in cudeah's car is the resonator removal and headers. also the cat removal.
dude... cutting the pipe is seriously ghetto, you couldn't just have waited till you could get a real axelback?

You might want to look into the 'slanted exhaust' thread.. one of the guys just found a long exhaust tip and put that in place... it looks good and will clear the exhaust out from under.
I used to not care eather but I skateboard and I keep my deck and pads in my trunk at all times . i got so tired of them reeking like exhaust all the time.
