My '01 2.5RS is acting up...
This is a call for help with my suby. As noted in the title, I have an '01 2.5, only engine mod so far is a Cobb CAI.
The other day, whilst on the highway, I heard a rattling sound, kinda like a fan that was tapping the edges of its case. I turned off my air vent, sped up, slowed down, put it in neutral... none of those things changed the sound at all. It eventually went away after a few minutes.
Later that afternoon, on my way to the dealership for an oil change (82,500), I didn't hear the noise, but the throttle started getting touchy. If I was accellerating, it was fine, but holding a constant speed, it would slow down, then speed up as if I were letting off the gas, then stepping back on it, only I wasn't moving my foot at all. My speed only drooped a mph or two, but it was definitely noticeable.
I mentioned it to the dealer and they didn't say anything about the herky-jerky stuff, but said the intake was a little loose and may have been rattling. I'm not satisfied with that as an explanation since letting off the gas and putting it in neutral didn't change the tone of the rattle. BTW, I didn't get any CEL's, and neither problem has happened since.
Any thoughts???

My 01RS does something similar to what you describe, but only after I fill up with gas.
Feels like someone pushes my car from behind then kinda chokes then surges a bit. This has happened to me about 5 times and mainly when I keep a constant speed/throttle under 60mph.
