Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Possibly, but you'll probably do just fine by taking the silencer off. Ask Kostamojen how that goes.

No prob, you can do it from above IIRC. it's just a matter of pulling one part off another and making a small hole in the fender plug. There's link in this forum somewhere.

You dont have to go through the inner fender in the wheel well, you can go from under the bumper right under the front of the car. Just follow that plastic fender piece to underneeth the car and you can see that there are like 1 or 2 tabs you can remove so you can bend it far enough back to remove it.

Otherwise for intakes you can just get a MAF converter and a cone filter from somewhere like www.imprezars.com and use that, or look for 98/99 RS intakes which are MAF based same as the EJ18, but those types of intakes are few and far between and you generally have to tweak some other intake to get it to work...

So basically, whatever route you take you have to learn something about how to work with the car.

I dont recommend intakes with the cone filter inside the engine bay. If anything, since the 1.8 has that nice 3" tubing between the maf and the engine, just use that and stick a filter with a MAF converter on... I didnt like mine though cause I lost too much torque and it just made alot of noise, so i'm going to re-route it into the fender well eventually and see if that helps

For now, just remove the silencer. I got just as much in the way of power from that and a cone filter intake.
