intake cone filter with adapter question
hey guys, i just wanna know before my K&N cone filter and adapter gets here this week, i got a 95 impreza, and wanna install this, but there's a tube from the engine to the airbox, how do i get rid of this? or mod it some how to work with the adapter and filter? or do i need the whole INTAKE aluminum tubing? i'm kinda confuse, anyone did this? just a adapter and cone filter? anything would be nice, thanks guys.

if i am following you correctly, you're getting a mass air flow adapter plate,a nd the filter. the maf is on the end of that intake tube that runs from your throttle body. the adadpter will go on the maf, and the filter attaches to that. you have to unbolt the maf from the airbox. hope that helps.

I wouldn't go with the cone filter conversion unless you plan on building a heatshield. Just remove the intake silencer and drop in a K&N panel filter. Do whatever tickles your fancy, but this is just my biased opinion ![Wink](https://www.i-club.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

i think i know what you are talking about! i did the cone filter and adapter thing to my 95. its the crankcase breather tube. whatever you do, do not plug it up, ,unless you want to ruin your car! you can go to a pep boys and pick up a small breather filter for about $3 and you just put it on the end of the tube. with the tube though, you have to attach it to your intake so it stays up high. i hope this helped, and is what you were looking for!

yeah you just put a small breather filter on the end of the tube coming from the crankcase. i attached the tube to my intake with wire so it wouldn't get any water on it. too bad i don't have a picture that i could show you. the way i have it set up is that the breather tube is right next to the cone filter and adapter.
best of luck to you!
best of luck to you!
