Idle Air Control Valve
My dealer says my Check Engine light indicates I need an Idle Air Control Valve and catalytic convertor. They'll pay for the convertor, but I'm stuck with $430.00 for the valve installed. Anyone have any history about this. Can I do the valve replacement myself????

I had the same problem on MY98 2.2L Impreza, just get some carb cleaner and disconnect the hoses running to the idle air control valve and spray it out, it worked on my car, it maight work on yours too. You can get carb cleaner for .99 at Autozone.
