Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

For $1000 you can get equal length headers like Brullen and TWE, or better yet you could just get MRT headers and their high-flow catpipe for much less. $800 from Langston Subaru.

Borlas sound really cool, but they aren't good for power. I have a set right now with a custom catback. The MRT headers are generally considered to make the most power (19-21 whp from the MRT header-back alone) but the TWE and Brullen headers are also very good. The MRT has a different shape though, which requires you to go with their high-flow at pipe or get a custom done. MRT's setup is also relatively cheap, which is why I recommend it a lot. Cheap and fast.

Here is the link for ordering the complete MRT header-back kit for $790 plus shipping. It will fit any EJ25 Impreza, but '02+ will need slight modification to one exhaust hanger.

i have borla right now too, they made decent power for the price. but they crack, it is a known fact, i just took mine off to get them sent back to borla for a new set since they didnt want me to get them welded. just keep that in mind. i am not trying to divert borlas sales to MRT or anything, but to me its not worth it. the pluses:decent power(not as much as others, but still noticable), great sound, excellent price

If you bought the exhaust from Borla, then it's a Borla muffler, not Magnaflow. The MRT headers and MRT (or custom) midpipe should fit the flange on your axle back. If so, then the MRT headers and a new custom midpipe will still work. As long as the muffler is the straight-through type, they all make about the same power gains. Your 2.5" muffler piping will work ok with 2.25" midpipe if your installer knows what he's doing.

The Gen IV Borlas do not crack usually. Besides that, they're still only $280 and if they do crack, Borla will reimburse you for any welding you need to repair any cracking. Borla backs up their lifetime warranty. I have gotten exactly what I expected from mine, so I am satisfied.

MRT does not terminate at the factory location. You will need MRT pieces to the axle back. TWE is on back order until at least the end of August, so if need them now you are SOL. Brullens have never been my favorite, but they are OK and run around $1200 for a full exhaust.

I'll be getting Borlas and a Random Tech cat soon. So obviously I think it's an OK choice. Borlas are only $270 from Summit, the Random Tech is $338 shipped from Nino's.
