EJ25 and EJ22 gas mileage?
Just wondering what kind of mileage you folks are getting in the city and the highway... or mixed
I've seen 21mpg, 24mpg (my current Corolla gets this much), 26mpg?
Just curious, that's all.

Lets see, on my 2.5L motor, I get about 23-25 (not usually driving hard, mainly highway).
EDIT: Oh, 25 is usually only when I'm going down the highway on a road trip (as in, no stops but between tanks of gas).

I'm mainly wondering about city mileage, actually.
I've seen numbers like 18mpg, which matches my Mazda MPV.
My current car averages at 24 mpg (highway or city)... so it'd kinda be a huge jump.
But yeah... average all city mileage?

EJ18, if you want some nice mileage numbers buy a used 1.8 for hella cheap! I average 24-28 city (20-22 agressive driving). On highways I get anywhere from 28 up to 35. Gas is oxygenated here (10% ethanol) most of the time so it really cuts down mileage numbers. I run premium (91) and have 190,500 miles on the original engine.
Once I get off the front range gas I've seen 36MPG highway, even going 80-85. I have an aftermarket cone filter intake and somewhat free flowing exhaust- no muffler but the rest is stock. Once I put on my high flow cat, I will probably see even better numbers.
Anyone else think this newer forum kinda sux??

I have a 2001 rs. The best gas mileage i got was 33 mpg when i had 10,000 miles on my car. 100% highway. With my car having over 50,000 miles on it i average 27 to 29 mpg on highway. City about 21-24 mpg.
