Does a CAI affect the car in winter?
Hi guys,
When I had my old Mitsu Galant with an CAI, I would get very little heat in the winter.
Would having a CAI installed in my Subie affect my heat output in the winter as well?
Also, does running a CAI in the winter hurt the car in any way?
Thanks for the advice.
Joe

Car Info: want a WRX
It would help if you listed what car you have. I can't help much but I'll move this to the right section, which can. I'm not sure, but as far as I know the weather won't hurt the car in any way.

I have no experience, but I'm trying to think logically about it and can't see how they could possibly have any bearing on each other. A CAI simply makes the air entering the engine cooler and thus makes it more efficient/powerful. It won't make the engine run cooler though. And I thought that it was engine heat, not intake heat that provided heat in the heater.
I don't really know this though so you probably want another opinion. GL
