Correct postion for timing belt gears
I just got done replacing my water pump and thermostat in my 99 2.5RS and my car will not start. I do not believe that I moved any of the cam gears, but I want to double check. What is the correct postition for the gears and the crankshaft? Also, do I have to check for #1 cylinder at tdc while doing this?

Double check that you plugged in all of the connectors that you removed to do the maintenance. That's the most common cause of failure to start. If you did not remove the timing belt while you were in there, and you matched it back up to the crank properly, than you didn't change the cam timing.

I didn't remove any connectors while doing this. The crank is right on for its sensor, but the drivers side pulley is clockwise almost 45 degrees from its alignment. I was just want to know exactly where the marks for the left and right pulleys should line up?
