Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Cobb tuning is your best bet. People also swear by injen CAIs as well. As far as CAI vs short ram. Cold air > hot air. I don't know about the injen, but the cobb pulls air from high up in the fender so you don't risk ingesting water. I think the cobb is actually cheaper too.
