Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

okay, so I am slow.... So I need to see things step by step instead in a paragraph form. This is what I see... Correct?

Intake Mod

1 x Fernco D=3" to D=2" reducer
1 x 60 degree elbow
1 x 22.5 degree elbow (AKA 1/16 elbow at H.D.)
1 x ABS pipe L=11 3/8" D=3"
1 x ABS pipe L=2 1/2" D=3
1 x 1" L bracket
1 x 1" stainless screw
1 x 1/2" stainless screw
2 x fiber lock nuts.
1 x black ABS Cement

1. Reduce - 2" goes to the air box, 3" goes to the 60 degree elbow
2. 60 degree elbow - one end goes to the reduce, the other goes to the 11 3/8" ABS pipe
3. 11 3/8" pipe - one end goes to the 60 degree elbow, the other goes to the 22.5 degree elbow
4. 22.5 degree elbow - one end goes to teh 11 3/8" pipe, the other goes to the 2 1/2" pipe
5. 2 1/2" pipe - one end goes into te 22.5 degree elbow, the other goes into the fender well
6. L bracket - use 1" screw on the pipe with fiber lock nut, use 1/2" stainless screw on the fender well with fiber lock nut.

You are correct. However I made a little improvement. Instead of using an "L" bracket I lined the hole in the inner fenderwell with some rubber tubing (silicone tubing would probably work better, but I didn't have any) I split longways and slipped the intake through. It fit nice and snug, but still allows for movement. Now the length on the ABS pipe is approximate so you may want to start out a little longer and cut to fit. Also leave at least 1" (more if possible) between the 22.5 elbow and inner fenderwell so when you start it up the end of the elbow doesn't hit the inner fenderwell from the motor shifting on it's mounts. If the intake does shift enough at start up to hit the inner fenderwell it will make a "clunk" sound. It's not detremental, but it annoys me so I remade my intake shortening the length of ABS between the elbows while lengthening the piece on the fenderwell side for additional clearance and don't forget to grease the area between the rubber and ABS so it doesn't squeak. I used Die-electric grease (the same grease used for the spark plug wire terminations) It works really well. Take a look:
