it is a p0130. according to my obd2 scanner it is a oxygen sensor malfunction too. There is a list of codes on ravensblade impreza in which a p0130 is a oxygen sensor malfunction but you look at the code list on nasioc it says the code is oxygen sensor lean condition. I just cleared the code this morning and drove around some today and checked for codes. No codes but i will see if it happens again.

If the code does come back subaru will replace the sensor for free.

my cel came back code p0130 again only after getting the rpm's past 5,000. My car is also idling a little rough. If the oxygen sensor is going bad that would explain why i have been getting only 24 mpg on highway miles. How come the cel did not come on earlier? I just past the 50,000 mile mark.

From what I understand you have to get the fault code for so many hits over a span of so many seconds for the CEL to come on. The thing to do is not clear the code and then go to the dealer. There was a rash of bad Sensors at one time. I think they even changed vendors because of it. They say you should change them every 60K anyway. My GM went way down to 18 MPG after mine went bad. It ran like crap too.

That also explains why my car sometimes has problems starting. It starts then dies right away. Then the next time it starts right away. Sometimes i have sluggish acceleration too. Also noticed on my auterra obd2 scanner that the oxygen sensor reads below .1 volts when i take my foot off the gas at 40mph. According to another post on nasioc the o2 sensor should never get below .1 volts. How come subaru does not have it in the service manual what to look for if your o2 sensor goes bad? How come this cel does not come on earlier? Also i did some searching on nasioc and one guy made the suggestion that maybe the exhaust gaskets may have a leak drawing cold fresh air into the exhaust causing the oxygen sensor to be flaky. I have an appointment for the dealer next week, see what they say about it. see if i can a free o2 cell.
