Can the Borla Header mate with the stock catback?
Hi everyone, I am asking for a friend that has a 07 Impreza RS and he was thinking about getting a set of Borla Headers (part number 17183). I have done several searches about it and have heard about the CEL's but only pertaining to the early production of those headers. How about now? Will he require to have a high flow cat or can he run the header and just bolt it up with the stock catback without welding? If the header does cause CEL's which are the options for the cel fixes? Thanks
P.S. Can he also use the replica ebay headers as well? How well do they work? Any problems or fitment issues? Thanks.

You can run headers with a cat back and keep the OEM cats. You WILL get power increase AND better mileage (I picked up 3 mpg in town) and some 'boxer rumble'.
If you want the 'full effect' then go to a 'track-pipe' (cat delete). Stromung has one.
Be aware if you are post '04 ~ you will need to plug the rear O2 sensor on the Stromung and place another O2 bong about 14" behind the front O2 bong (change of wire harness). This can be done at any muffler shop and cost me a whopping $7.
