Buzzing noise 2800rpm - 3000rpm
Hi there,
My 2000 2.5RS has developed a buzzing noise between 2800 and 3000rpm. It is worst at 3000 and drops off sharply at higher revs. It is most audible from the driver's seat, and almost imperceptible under the hood or under the car, though you can tell it is somewhere at the front.
It happens in gear and in neutral, rolling and stationary, so I've pretty much ruled out the tranny. I've also ruled out the exhaust shield and checked for loose parts underneath and in the cabin.
Any suggestions as to what to check next would be appreciated -- could this be the belts?
Thanks!
Chris

forget it. it won't make that sound stationary. I just read the first part
I would say your belts may need to be tightened. That would be my first step since it is the simplest and cheapest, before you start tinkering further.
