Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

To buy a 2.5i, or not to buy.

stock 07 2.5i is rated at 173hp at the crank (what subaru's website says).

my basic 07 2.5i was $19,995, i'm leasing mines, with $2,000 down, i'm only paying $210/month [thats why i went with a 2.5i instead of a wrx!]

mined you, a lot of the wrx/sti mods WILL work on the 2.5i, since they all share the same body style/engine family (2.5i = ej253, wrx = ej255, sti = ej257)

mysterio/07impreza: I wish I lived in a state where Radars are Legal. I'm so fortunate to live in ONE of TWO places where they aren't allowed (VA and DC).

I'm in Florida a lot though, and I bought one down there. It did a pretty good job all the way up to VA. Guess what tho, now VA is putting in "Speed Cameras", and bringing back their crooked "Red Light Cameras". Half the time the stupid cameras ticket the wrong car, not to mention that most of the cops I've heard from don't even like them. Red Light Cameras, that's one thing, but wth is with a Speed Camera? I'd like to see the rate at which they ticket the wrong cars, if the Red Light Cams couldn't even get it right half the time. Smh.

A stock lookin car has advantages tho, especially down in Florida on 95, where everyone is pushin 90. You can slip inbetween a nice shiny vette and Porsche, and ur practically invisible ;-)
Don't worry though, I'm not pushing any illusions here.
So much is luck.
Lol I know someone gets caught doing 100 in a 50, and they get a warning, then other friends are barely pushin 10 over, and get a huge fine and points.
Bottom line, It Just Isn't Fair.

for my current situation, leasing was the best way for me to get into a new car dont worry, the 2.5i will be purchased once the lease it up, which is at 36months
