Airflow or spark?
It was just my bday and i have a few extra bucks to spend. Heres what im thinking i either want to get new plugs and wires or a k&n filter. Not sure wich will be more beneficial and if i were to go wire and plugs which wires will fit without breaking the bank. im looking at 8.5 mm.
thanks,
Brent

You should order a 3" MAF adapter from Larry @ imprezars.com, then order a K&N cone- NOT A DROP IN!!- if you really want to notice some gains with you grounding kit- I also have a modified ground kit. I have my intake removed with a 3" alluminum pipe to the t/b starting with a K&N cone. If you can get your tube replaced, DO, with a high flow pipe- you will love the roaring boxer sound at around 4000 revs up to the top sounds like a resonator in you motor almost
You won't really FEEL plugs and stuff, just smoother performance and better mileage. Order a full kit from rallitek.com or something if you can afford. BTW where'd you get your ground kit???? your 98 is n/a isn't it? Good luck.

what year is your car? i have the maf and i really do not wanna jeopordize the maf so i wanna keep the black box by the throttle body. But i have thought about doing the whole cone filter deal but still a little nervous bout the maf also the car is still under warrenty from the dealer. so i am looking out for that too. If i do get the adapter and the cone filter do i have to worry bout any of that stuff?
btw: i did my own ground kit from instructions from scoobymods

my cone is in the engine compartment and I'm sure it breathes nothing but hot air till u get up to speed (55-60 and up i'd say) but just the difference in rate of the air flow will give a good couple of whp. whats ur total mileage on that? if ur warranty is almost up, just do it. subys r so reliable tho i'd bet $ u don't have engine issues (covered under warranty) until ur above 150,000 EASILY. im approaching 175 and she purrs like a kitten (1993 imp L sedan) talk to the dealership

ok cool it has 128 highway miles it was a sales lady car so its all good milage. So i think ill probably do it is there anywhere i can get an adapter for under 35$ that seems a little steep for something like that. Plus i dont have a credit card being 20 so id need to use a money order or something. Is there a place i can do this or i sh** out of luck?

I've got a bigger 4.5" adapter with the "air horn" inside (scoop lookin thing) to create a smooth flow but the 3" r a good deal for what u can do with em. log onto rallitek.com and check out their kits- less hassle trying to mix parts with your stock system as well. open up a bank account- i got a free checking deal at Compass bank and they give u a free debit card u can use like any other credit card online- i do it all the time and it saved my rear- so no you're not S.O.L. at all dude

well i have an atm card but the rents dont like the idea of a credit card yet. As for the ground kit i felt a little it really lowered my rpms i know this prob doesnt sound right but it idles at 200 in drive and it starts pulling at like 2500-3000 instead of at 4 so a little but nothing huge. id recommend it. real easy to do too.

hey dude, its me again. i saw u might do a cone filter. if you do defintely keep your stock upper air box. that's wut give u most of your low end torque, u'll get better top end without it but u'll def notice a low end loss. i kept my top air box and ran a 3" outer diameter aluminum pipe to a 3" inner diamerte silicone tube and an innder fender plate to block any hot air from the engine bay, noticed a good increase in throttle response and some low end, also a little better top end. the hot air from there makes a huge difference so don't just leave yur cone on there (u just suck hot, power killing air. i was while i was waiting for parts). my friend (hitokiri) is running a PRM? (i never remember those letters) with a MAF adapter and 3" aluminum tube to his stock upper air box. the only difference is he needed to get a gasket or cut out the paper part from a stock air filter to keep the box air tight since the MAF is located before the upper box, he tried without it and just kept stalling and idling harsh. he encountered another problem u should watch out for if u do this, when he was driving the etra flow and lack of adhesion pulled the gasket into the throttle body and held the plate open and he was stuck open. scary! he glued it in i think.... it works fine now. my rs is a 2000 so i hav a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) instead so i only had the upper box stock and was able to just run that open pipe into my fender and leave my KN in the top air box. if u run a cone, its gona b hard to find a cone that will fit in yur fender so i recommend leaving yur top box, getting a PRM inline filter (not from COBB, it will take FOREVER) and running an open ended pipe to yur fender like i did. when u figure out wut yur gona do i can help u, i know where all the snorkus pieces are and i can help you figure stuff out. u can check out my intake set up if u wana get some ideas. just remember u hav a MAF sensor which is kinda sensative and u need to hav an air tight system after yur MAF sensor or yur engine will think its getting less air then it really is and run lean to the point of stall. alright i think that's as long as i can go without being yelled at i left my number on another one of yur post so if u want help or sumthin lemme know, goodluck dude.
