Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

if you get the weapon r intake then i'll get one too.

i'm just a little skeptic about buying car parts online. btw, is that a good reputable brand like aem, k&n, injen, & hks. my friends tells me to wait a little longer but isn't intakes just an air filter attached to a bent aluminum pipe?

i may sound like one noob in this but i'm pretty much sure it does serve a better purpose than the stock intake thing..

help?

hmm ive taken a look at the weapon R and i really thought about it at first, but short rams are half as good as full CAIs =/ im gettin pretty impatient so im first gonna see how the 05 CAI fits, if it doesnt then ill see if i can have a shop make one and ill just stick a k&n filter on the top ^_^

and yeah im no expert but i do beleive intakes are just a pipe with a filter at the end. the reason why a CAI is better than a short ram is because the CAI is placed usually to pick up colder air away from the engine, unfortunately making it vulnerable to water (friend's integra just blew a hole in his engine due to a large puddle)

Well, this might be a rumor, but I also heard that K & N filters do absolutely nothing with regards to air flow. Using a stock air filter apparently provides the same performance with regards to the K & N filter ?

oh hell to the no i'ma put a CAI on my car. haha. cold air intakes reminds me of my friend's civic. it got into an ankle deep puddle and just sucked up water, and the engine died. i'ma stick w/ the short ram.

If you put intake, headers, and exhaust,.. will that improve the mpg? reason why is because i'm getting 240 miles for every full tank. right now, i'm half tank and i drove 140 miles... are you folks having the same results?

Oh yeah,. i'm not sure but i think the headers will void my warranty.. so maybe i won't put that in.

I've been driving more like my grandma lately since gas prices went up. other then the friday after work drive to blow off steam. I've been getting 160s per half tank.

i love backroads.

dang.. are you hella serious? 1.16 for 89 octane. wow, if that was the prices here in hawaii, i'd be running my car hard. well, now its 3.19 for 89 octane and 3.30 for 91 octane. the 14 cent raise didn't get into effect yet...

i use 91 octane. what sucks is that sometimes i think about burning premium fuel for a/c. i drive like a grandma most of the time now that the prices are jacked up. sometimes, when i run it hard, it kinda saddens me cuz i'm just making my wallet lighter.

its about $1.10 USD for 1 litre of fuel in australia. its risen by about 50% in the last year.

how come there is only 89 octane over there? do you use different rating because here we get 95 and 98 octane, and thats the same as Hong Kong too (the price there is about $2+ for a litre).

J-Chow, i ordered the osram bulbs, did you have any troubles installing them?

does anyone know if something happend to rallitek.com? i emailed about a intake, got a reply and then asked for a shipping quote and have still not received a replay, its been about 2 weeks now...

you know i finally get what you guys (vinzie27, suba06, j-chow) are talking about with the painted side mirrors!!!!

the side mirrors on the aussie models come painted

too bad that the decided to make the engine only a 2.0i for this years model, unlike last years!

still does 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds atm, stock is 10s +/- 0.5s

saving up for a turbo, got a confirmation that turbo charging a 2.0i will make it faster than a stock 2.5i WRX.

Osram bulbs? No problems at all. Although on the first try, it took awhile since it was my first time, and I had a friend to help me with it.
I ordered the phillips blue vision bulbs as well, so I installed those 1-2 months ago. I believe one of our forum members posted a method to install lightbulbs.

From Vinzie27:
its real easy to put in. just follow manual instructions for the right side, the left side is the same thing put you have to take out the battery. The battery is pretty easy to take out. Just take out the negative first then positive. The positive is the one with the red cover. Then unscrew the washer on the front that is holding down the tie down bar. just take out that hooked pole, then slide the tie down bar over the top of the battery. Then just pull out the battery. When u put it back on, pos first then neg. Thx to Vinzie27
