It makes noises at 35/65? All i know is any other setting except for 35/65 makes noises in my car =P

Also, the STi's transmission is pretty noisy, it could just be the gearbox drag.

I'd say RTFM but that would be mean. It says so in the manual that you would get a significantly higher NVH than normal cars.

easy there tiger.... i love the STi for its no BS.
The clunking i am talking about is with the DCCD set to auto and it is at slow speeds. It is probably just normal tranny/dif noise, just wanted to confirm.
Thanks,
Mike

the dccd will make noise if the car is still in the break in period. if you are turning sharp on an uneven surface it does so also. if it makes those noises on a straightaway, then i'd be concerned.

structurally speaking these cars rock. don't believe me? take out all the carpet and seats and check out the bracing and spot welds. all these noises we hear are normal... with the exception that the strut tops have been known to be weak- resulting in a buckling noise in the rear struts- i've changed 2 struts under warranty(thinking it was the problem) one my my disclaimers when i show a client this car is this- "This car is noisy. You will hear the brakes, road noise, differential(at times)."

if you continue to hear noises that seem foreign to you, just take it in and have it checked-

Smile noises

When one buys an STI, it's for the performance. This might seem like a cop-out of an excuse for all the squeaks, rattles, and whirring a/c noises. But that comes with the territory. Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis have their share of these same noises. Don't believe me? Don't have too. But thems the facts.

Car Info: 2002 Sooby WRX (not runing right)
I drove a Dodge Viper Venom 800 and that thing was so wobbly loose and rattly, the AC barely worked, it clunked poped and banged, sqeeked, and slamed every inch of cheasy american plastic all over the place. What an ugly driving car, handles like ****, sounds good tho :P cant stop for the life of it, was doing only 80 or so when a guy ran out in front of me and the thing slid all over the damn place lol what a POS. My STI is 200x the car that is a few rattles here and there on a rough road is nothing. Point said.
