Hey Mario, by looking at the before and after pictures I fell pretty confident I could do that myself and could get it smoother than they did those pictures look pretty rough..

even if you get the port and polish its not really effective unless you are running an ebc. Manual boost controllers will still allow you to hit boost spike. so all in all you might wanna get the ebc before you do a port and polish.

You know what i think Justin i thinks it justa piece of Poop boost contoller . I am not having any problems w/ boost spike or anything. I know i don't have an STi but i think we sould just swap boost controllers and see what happens. I'm gonna call you.

this really sucks the only way your gonna get a solid boost of 16 or 17 psi is to go with the ebc. Tryed vishnu and turbo xs boost controllers both set at about only 14psi but still hit boost spikes. So the question now is was the port and polish any help or should i just of bought a boost controller first. In my opinion it only solves half of the problem.

finally installed my ebc and took the car for a test run i set the unit to 17psi and i never boost spike once the whole time even in 6th gear at about 4500 rpms. So this is what i think is the cure to the boost spike problem. I dont know if my port and polish turbo made a difference but i do know that with the ebc, i had no boost spike. I still have wastegate flutter but im tuning that with the ebc and the bov.

flutter is still there but read more about it and i think the actuator spring needs to be more stiff to get less flutter or none at all. But the ebc is great helped out a whole lot. Tuning is different when it comes to street and 1/4 mile. So im still tuning.

Mario, what was the outcome of this combo? there has been some interesting disscusion on Nasioc about swaping VF components and it seems your detup might be a pretty nice setup(stock spool-up + better top end)

I used the pic you posted to compare the 30 and 39 comp housings, were those pics taken after you swapped their comp housings?

I chimed in on that thread. I took the pics before we sent the turbo off to deadbolt.
