USDM Sti 2.5 short block kit- who from
After trying a few searches i managed to find one supplier for the above kit for around $1800, but lost the link.
Can someone please recommend any suppliers & can that price be beat.

Hey man... I Just finished swapping an sti block into my 2.5RS... If you aren't afraid of taking your motor out (which is not a big deal at all) you can do it yourself, and save yourself thousands .... The only problem I ran into was, I forgot to plug in my water temp sensor so I threw a CEL... but I figured it out in a few minutes, and everything works out flawlessley.. My car runs great and sounds awesome.. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer for you.

I know this is a little off subject....kinda... but I just finished swapping out my 2.5rs block yesterday with a USDM sti shortblock... Everything went smmothly except for the blots on the lower right side of my bell housing.. The piping from my turbo was right ion the way so i had to drop my turbo, in order to get to the bolts.. not a big deal but time consuming.. The only problem I ran intop was the parallel fuel rail system... The explanation on I-club, and on ravensblade-impreza was a little off. So I plan on adding better pictures, and better explanations, and more steps so no one is left in the darkk. The other problemI ran into was when I 1st started my car after the install... My fans wouldn't turn off, and my temp guage wasn't working.... 1st thought was water temp sensor, and water temp guage sensor.. sure enough there it was unplugged.. put tat bad boy back in and it ran awesome.. no problems what so ever.. I have a little power steering pump leak, but other than that ( I don't care about power steering, cuz it has nothing to do with going fast) awesome.. it acts like it wants to just take off!!! oh and back to the subject.... 1460 shipped from isrperformance.com ask for pam.

Well, in all honesty, I'd like to do the swap myself, but my main concern is the timeframe. About how long did it take for the swap? And also, is there anywhere I can get the whole she-bang? I'm talking a complete block with everything. The engine on my WRX ate itself, and I don't see any parts that are really usable in a swap.
Meatl filings in pretty much everything. And kinda off the subject here, but if I swap to the EJ-25 Turbo, can the HKS F-Con V Pro handle it? Also, anyone in the Northern VA area know of a good body shop?

I have an STI (and had a WRX) and to me the DCCD is little more than a toy than a serious performance part. I don't rally the car, as most of us don't, and that is where I hear you might see some real benefit. If it were a very low cost and simple option I'd say do it just to be unique. I would imagine it wouldn't be a simple upgrade. You probably need an STI wiring harness (or a part of one) and who knows which computer controls it (the main CPU or another small unit somewhere). Otherwise the 6sp trans is what you really want. So far I haven't heard of anybody killing one so the increased strength makes it good upgrade. The 6sp feels like it is a much closer ratio unit than the 5sp (my opinion from feel, I didn't look at the specs) so you can be off a gear in a turn and not have to downshift like you did in the WRX.

I'm already leaning towards the 6sp, as I want to extract every single ounce of power and torque from the engine. And really, I'm just trying to get a feel for where I should go with this car during the rebuild. I know an engine swap isn't cheap, but if I've already got to replace the motor, why not go with a better one, know what I mean?
Also, being a former Honda-boy, I've done a few engine swaps into Civics, but want to know if you would say swapping the STi engine for the WRX engine is any more complex. And obviously, the factory service manual for the WRX and STi engines are a must, right? Or has anyone posted detailed instructions on the swap on the web somewhere?
