Turbo Spooling sound...

Okay. I hooked up a Hallman Boost Controller but I set it to stock. The thing that it spools up ALLOTT quicker then stock but when it does spool up to full boost at low RPM it sounds like either the BPV can't take all that boost. Makes a sound like spooling up but it sounds kinda like air leaks or something...

dont turn it too high do you have a boost gauge? keep it at the safe boost. and do you have a DP, dont give too much boost and your turbo cant get the air out.

yeah when racing at high REVS the boost gauge reads stock. its good but at low RPM and high gears it reads 1.1Barr

Another possibility that is unlikely but possible. In my car, under high load, i was getting an uppipe to turbo exhaust leak. It was very small and only under high exhaust pressure and sounds like a whistle. Dealer eventually found and fixed it

that depends on what is considered lower rpms. Boost tapers at high rpm, so highest boost levels should be seen in the midrange from as little as 3k rpm

same thing happened to me when i got a stage2 from FLI
not that they did a bad tune or anything, but i had a boost leak when they tuned it, and i fixed it later... so something about the HWG map from COBB fixed it

1) try slipping the gas pedal down to the matt (slowly getting it to like 12-15 lbs then stabbing it..
2) then just try matting it from 2400 rpms in 5th

when i just matted it from 2400 in 5th it kinda bogged for a sec... then hit about 21lbs for a sec then tapered quickly (5800 rpm) to 16 then held at 17(till red line)...

then i got the HWG map and it just went to 17lbs and held...

hope this helps..

I'd say that just about sums it all up!
