STi upgrade options: turbo, header, fuel pump...

In a few months we will be having our 2 year anniversary. We have had a lot of fun, and it looks like we are both looking for a little more excitement in our lives.

Last year I got her: Cobb springs and sways, 3" APS TBE, Access Port, and a tune.

This year I’m looking at getting her a Turbo, the APS Headers, fuel pump, injecors with tune and maybe fmic.

Questions:
What turbo options do we have on stock internals? we want something that is going to get us the most gain with the least lag (I guess that’s what everyone wants)

Also... is there a fmic that will not require me to cut away at her front end? Or is it even worth while getting a fmic with only this amount of upgreads?
any other suggestions would be great

A td06-20g with a FMIC hits full boost at 3500 and a FP Green (or other 49lb/min) hits closer to 4000rpms. I wouldn't go bigger than that for a stock location turbo. Both have the potential to do damage if run aggresively enough, but if you just plan on running pump gas you should be fine. It's all in the tune. If you want your motor to last then keep it conservative or tell the tuner you'd like the tune on the safe side.

thanks. good info. and yeah im all about hitting full boost at low RPMs. I was looking at some turbos from APS and looks like they also do good boost at low RPMs.
so esentialy its all about the tune. You could get what ever turbo you want its just that you need to get it tuned down as to not put to much stress on the motor?

I want to say yes, but a more knowledgeable mind may want to confirm that. Sounds right though.
