sti block sohc heads. completed

Well all of my annoying questions paid off.. I finished swapping out my block on my 2.5RS.. First I will explain why I did this... My car had been running "funny" for a while.... idling rough, hesitation, and leaking oil out of the valve cover vents.. so I thought great I blew some piston rings, but to be on the safe side I took it to a dealer... YES A DEALER, and they did a leak down saying that I was leaking 70% from my number 4 cyl. So I thought crap.. I must have a freakin hole in my piston... The dealer said that it would be a minimum of 1400 to take everything apart to see what the problem really is.. I thought to myself.. Funk that!!!!! So I did some research on the new STI block assy.. and asked a million dumb questions and found out that MAYBE all of my stock parts including all of my pumps, etc will swap to the USDM sti block.... So I went that route.. Well I tore my motor apart a few days ago and discovered that there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my motor.. Nothing at all.. I did a leak down.. after I turned my right side cam to TDC (will explain ) and did a leak down my self... it only leaked 5 % and this is with a motor that is missing a piston ring (took one off to look at it) and bone cold... pretty good huh? apparently my right side cam sprocket slipped about 30 deg clockwise and my car had been running like that for quite some time.. I don't know how, or how long but it was off.... way off.. I paid 1400 dollars for a timing belt... oh well at least I have a new block... but I am for sure going to go down to the dealer where I had the work done and chew them out.. I won't tell anyone who they are ( Ehrlich Subaru in Greeley CO 970-353-5333) because I don't want them to get a bad rap ( $%^$heads) BUt everything does swap perfectly.. the vent on the top of the sti block is in the way of the water pipe, but some grinding and hammering made room for the vent.. and man it is soo awesome.. my car runs great.. everything works flawlessley.. If anyone has any questions or anything please write me.. I am excited!!! woo hoo! or want to know how I went about doing it let e know!

I used my stock heads from my 2000 2.5RS.. The only thing that I had to get that was not tock was sti head gaskets.. they are almost identical to 2.5RS head gaskets, but they are multi layered.. I am trying to break in my clutch ( clutch masters stage 3) and I am also trying to break in the new sti block assy too.. My car really wants me to mash the gas.. and it does pull alot harder even with out boost.. I don't know if the SOHC heds are the perfect match for the block, but man is it sweet.. The exhaust sounds the same, but I am running a little bit richer.. I also converted to parrallel, which I might add as more complicated than it seems.. not really , but the instructions that I was given were vauge and wrong, but hey other than that everythig is awesome.. I am only running 10PSI of boost, and I plan to go to about 18... with the help of the split sec FTC1... and some fat injectors... but like I said I need to break everything in first before I start to break everything again...

The the "story" that non-STi heads don't fit over the STi shortblock is a hoax?

I have a GT25 DBB turbo, tial wastegate TXS BOV, very efficient TMIC. right now I am running stock injectors with a RRFPR (6:1) but in a few days I am going to run sti injectors with split seconds FTC1.. it has 3D mapping of both fuel, I have a lot more junk than that, but these are the parts that make it go fast!!!! and everything does swap right over.. everything.. the only problem that I ran into was the extra vent that is on the sti block.. there is a water pipe that runds along the top of the block that runs right next to the vent.. I had to hammer the vent a little and grind on the pipe.. other thanthat it was smooth sailing.
