STI 2006 what to do?

Im stuck on what to do next? Turbo, front mount intercooler, exhaust, ecu? Please give me some advise.

I use this as a daily driver:
1. I need to use the phone in the car, so it cant be too loud.
2. This is a daily driver and i dont need top end since i dont think i will ever be going faster then 150+ (car doesnt feel stable at that speed on normal roads)
3. Im looking for 0-125 speed since most of the racing i have done is in that range. (most drivers back off around there)

If you have any advise or thoughts please let me know. I see ppl posting here talking about what there WHP is and there is no mention of drivablity.

"I have 350 whp! oh but i cant drive it daily because gas is 3.10gl and its get 10mpg" This is not what i am looking for at all.

Based on your statement, leave it stock and at most reflash the ecu.

A reflash will help with power, you will be able to pull a bit more out of the turbo with all of your stock bits in place. Noise level will be stock and you won't have any issues with driveability.

If you were to start moding your STI, you would start with the reflash and then intake and turbo back exhuast. You will have more power but it will be noisy. Some exhausts are louder than others so keep that in mind.

If your worried about fuel economy, don't mod at all. More power requires more fuel. The more power your pull from your car, the more you will spend driving it.

A word of advice, set a horsepower /torque goal. Post it and the very knowledgeable people on this board will help you get there. We will give you price, pros and cons of that level of build up.

ok thanks, i dont know how much whp i will need. I just dont want to over mod it. then i cant drive it daily any more. I have a 993TT that is way over modified and it was my daily driver. Now its the STI... I just dont want to make the same mistakes twice. Im new to the STi world. I know that i dont want stock and im not looking for 500++ whp. Just looking to give it a little more punch.

Get some sort or Engine management, I think the best out right now are the Cobb AP and the ecutek Reflash. Then get a Downpipe either catted or out and leave the stock axel back on to keep the noise down you'll only lose a few WHP with it on. Hope this helps you out GL with the car and enjoy

Ed at EQ Tuning, a vendor here ( www.eqtuning.com ) does a great job of tuning WRXs and STis, with the new AccessPort Pro Tuner software.

If you're looking to increase power with a high-quality downpipe with a catalyst that can take an additional heatshield added to make it look like it has both catalysts for a stock look, check out the MadDad V2 Metal Downpipe ( http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/prod...1&cat=1&page=1 )
and I'd recommend for a nice quiet sound, check out the Borla XR-1 exhaust for the STi, it like the MadDad V2 Downpipe is 3" piping at the flanges. The main difference between the Hush ( http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/prod...4&cat=1&page=1 ) and the XR-1 ( http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/prod...5&cat=1&page=1 ), other than having a single tip, is that the Hush has a resonator, whereas the XR-1 doesn't. So for a great sounding exhaust, mate the V2 downpipe with the XR-1 exhaust, and have an exhaust shop weld-in a resonator inline.
