Question about habit learning ECU...
So the ECU supposedly learns driver habits, fuel type , etc and adjusts itself accordingly? So what I'm curious about is this... does it constantly adjust the ignition depending on what type of fuel you use or does it set the highest multiplier number that doesn't cause ping and it sticks with that number? If you run a tank of higher than normal octane will the ECU automatically adjust the ignition to compensate or will it just stick with the same number it used for the crappy 91 octane?

supposedly there is a method to make the ECU pick up points faster so your ignition is fully upped.
There is a number the ecu uses to adjust your ignition timing through some complex math curve. The higher the number the more advanced your timing will be.
So... the method....
According to a few of the real guru's with a cleared ecu i believe you take the car up to low-moderate speeds with the rpm at like 2500rpm and apply 1-2psi of boost by accellerating and braking lightly for about 10-15 seconds. This should put the number at the maximum.
There is a thread on this just search for it.
Oh and i should mention with normal driving the ecu is quite slow to up your target iginition advance number but i think it will drop easily.

Vishnu reset...
I know about the Vishnu reset and that's why I'm asking the question. If you run a tank of crappy 91 then on the next tank you run 94 do you have to perform the Vishnu reset in order to get the ECU to advance the timing or will it do it on its own?
