Does anyone even know when the new sti is going to come out? Also when they changed the sub did they consider that a new sub, or just a face lift? Does anyone know when they are going to completely redo the WRX/STI...or if any changes are going to be applyed to the STI any time soon?

The 2.0 restriction is the correct one. They can do whatever they want with the USDM model, i believe the rule to have x amount of cars be in the market for it to be able to be in the WRC was eliminated a season or two ago.
We don't get taxed on huge engines in the US, except the gas guzzler tax and thats based on mpg not displacement, whereas they do get taxed like crazy in japan for anything over 2.0 With that said a 2.5 with twin turbos might not be likely in japan, but they can do it in the US if they wanted to. I doubt they would though, using a 2.5 has already gotten some people rilled up and screaming sacralige.

Subaru would probably keep something like this under wraps but I doubt they feel the necessity of going the twin turbo route. With 2.5 liters of displacement and AVCS, it isn't lacking compared with other production turbo engines. And then you have the logistics of routing a turbo on both sides of the flat four. This would require a lot more planning than just increasing displacement.

I can't see Subaru going TT on an STi... It just doesn't make any sense... That kind of reminds me when a local Acura salesman told me the RSX-S was a 20 liter. I laughed and then offered him $20.
