hks ssqv AAARG!!

am i the only one that is very annoyed with how these things sound?
i thought i'll get used to it and after a month and tbe, i couldnt stand it anymore.
i ended up going fin-less, now its extremely quiet...now iam thinking might as well put the stock one back in.

anyone heard the "purple fin" in person? i wonder how they sound, only seen videos and sounds just like the normal fin.

ahhh, i know exactly what your talkin about. I bought mine from a member here on i-club, installed it the next day and had it on my car for about 2 weeks then sold it. It gave me a headache and I was attracting too much unwanted attention. The ricer inside of me wanted to try it out haha

i've tried not recirculating with the stock bov and it just made my car run real bad so i was holding off on bov for awhile until another guy i met with 04 sti had ssqv and he said he hasnt had problem so i decided to give ssqv a try and i didnt notice any difference in performance when i had it on.

now that i have tbe, i wonder if it'll make a difference. i also just got boost gauge and it reads -.5 and less at idle :x isnt it suppose to be at 0?
broken gauge or possibly caused by not having my bov not recirculated.

there is no point in having a turbo with no aftermarket bov for me. That's just me though.

it's like getting an hdtv with no hdtv reception...

Haha...good to be honest. In a world of BOV haters...stand up for what you feel is right!

and it's like getting a BOV without an aftermarket turbo. why run one when the car runs perfectly fine and could withstand much more than just stock? I ran a stock BOV with my 16g setup and it was perfect, in fact, my car ran like **** with an aftermarket bov.

whatever the case, it's your car, not mine...just doesn't make sense to have a dip in MPG, running rich, and having a WOOOSH sound, or in the HKS case, a high pitched whistle that most people associate with the fast and furious market.

hrm...not trying to be a dick, but your analogy doesn't quite cut it for me.

getting a hdtv reception is meant to work hand in hand with the hdtv, but on the other hand, having a 100% atmostpheric bov here worsens the performance/idle/drivability of the car. so using the same hdtv analogy, it would make more sense if you compared it by saying 'having to purchase a hdtv, and pairing it with analog reception, refusing to use it with the hdtv reception that the tv was meant to use".

Mr Wiggles/Gabe - i agree with you, i'm running 21psi on my vf34, stock bypass valve, and it's awesome =]

but like you said, it's your opinion and you're fully entitled to it as is mine

btw, dont worry, i've had my fair shares of bov. hks, sard r2d2, blitz...
