Considering I spend 5-6 hours a week on the dyno tuning Subies, you're getting the wrong info.

Some of you guys talk like you live with Shiv and Mike... let up a bit.

Iburrrna...

If I was in your shoes, I would not bother with a Protune with the AP stage 2 set up on your WRX. Mike might've recommended you an option that may benefit you in the long run. If you're planning on upgrading your turbo, then stay with the OTS map. And if you're simply persistent in wanting to see gains, then I would suggest calling Mike again.

Tossing in my .02!

From my logging when I was on Cobb's Stage 1 CA map, it wasn't running very well. IAM was stuck at 8 and knock correction was at 4-5 under WOT. My suggestion is if you can spend the money, have someone custom tune it. Any good tuner can make your car run safer and smoother than the Cobb base maps.

Granted, I am not sure how the Cobb base maps perform on your Stage 2 setup. My car has stock exhaust and everything.

Cobb's maps don't tend to run too well on cali gas IMO, so I have never turned down such a tune. All of my customers to date who have switched from a Cobb OTS map to a custom tune have been very happy with the gains not only in overall power but especially drivability and response.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thanks
