I have the kit and I run between 12.0 and 12.2, so the cobra guy you know, send my way

But to metoo i've never seen a cobra hit 12.3@112 stock. On slicks maybe but not bone stock.
I hit 13.068 with my STi so just a turboback would easily give me 12.7+. I'm going to E-Town in 2 weeks to try and get 12's bone stock because the track i ran 13.0 at was 500' higher elevation not as good of a track and i didn't do anything to try and maximize the car i just pulled up and ran it. I'm definately going to ice the ic this time and i'm going to test out the playing with the diff to see if it helps. I ran it in auto before.

I do, however, take back my 12.7 comment since that can be done without EM (maybe not safely). I'll say 12.5 at 109, but still, it doesn't take 430 hp to do that. A 405 Z06 can do 11.9 bone stock...tires and all. Let's see a STi on that kit come anywhere close on 91 octane.

I'm also talking about cobras i've seen in real life a magazine can mean 2 ****s to me. The fastest i've ever seen totally stock in person is 12.7@111. I've also heard that stock GT's do 13's which i've nevers seen.

One thing that worries me is that they include a boost cut defender.
What kind of boost are they pushing on a unmodified VF-39? Hope they aren't overboosting the turbo to get those numbers...
Boosting above 17.5 psi for an extended period of time will wear out that turbo pretty quick.

Over in the STi forum at Clubwrx.net there's a guy with a modded STi
IC, ECU mod, exhaust, intake, boost controller - I believe these are the mods
He made 326 whp. (375 hp at the crank I would guess)
Pretty impressive hp readings on the stock turbo with simple mods.

I don't like mustangs and I don't really like guys who like mustangs (other than like 3 guys that I know). My dad's will spank most peoples' mustangs on crappy tires. I did get beat by my buddies not so stock STi though. All he had was turbo back and removed silencer and a radiator shroud for looks.

Impressive, yes, but last I checked, 375 was well short of 430+. Also, as the VF39 is very nearly the same size as a VF34, 375 hp is very reasonable.

I think the only other mod the ISR 430hp setup has in addition to the mods I listed that made 326 whp is a header? That might bump it up another 10- 20 hp or so but that would be about it.
What I would like to see are some real track times (with time slips), the trap speeds would tell us a lot about the cars true HP.

After talking to alot of subaru engine builders and tuners, the
most the sti engine can produce with the stock turbo is about 370
crank HP.. People using the "430 hp kit" are running mid 12's
according to the maker of the kit.. that would equate to around 370 crank HP..

Hot Rod got a 13.2 out of the STI and a 13.3 out of the Cobra...same track, same drivers.
A bone stock Cobra hitting low 12's would therefore be analogous to a bone stock STI hitting mid 12's. As for "seen with my own eyes"....did your eyes also inspect the car to make sure it was stock? ? ?
Sorry, I don't buy it.
