i also run a borla hush with a helix catted DP along with a header and catless UP it sounds nice a you get nice power gain.
I also recommend a road tune which will give you even more power and and smoother driveability, plus makes it so your motor is not running too lean, which can happen when adding a intake and exhaust.
A header is also a nice upgrade for a little extra power.

all sound like good posibilities i really like the spt exhaust.. kinda weird but i think it would be awesome if all the upgrades on the car were spt. except for an acessport lol... and whats this crap that you can only use the accesport with a stock intake? no cold air?? whattt?

This is incorrect. While the 07 sti's have a crap tune from the factory and simple reflash from a reputable tuner makes this a false quote. My 07 sti has run fine for over 70k miles. Stage 2 since about 9k miles.

If you get the car protuned with the intake you are fine. The only intake (besides stock) that is supposed to work with the AP is Cobbs's intake. IMO intakes are a waste of money if you are running a stock turbo. Just put drop in a K&N (remove the silencer if you want the extra intake sounds), install dp and exhaust (better yet get a EL header w/up pipe) and go get a custom stage2 tune. The problem with aftermarket intakes without tuning for them is that it may cause boost spikes that will damage your motor. ( 07's are known for this)

I guess it doesn't matter so long as you have 5 grand saved for a new motor. Maybe you will be o.k. running your spt intake, after all it's your motor. I went with a Cobb SS catback because of the stock looking muffler, sounds good and still flows really good. The hush is pretty similar, maybe a little quieter.
