Engine/Power - EJ20T (pre-2006 WRX and JDM) There is replacement for displacement, it is forced induction - OEM 2.0 liter turbo engines in the USDM WRX. 90-94 Legacy Turbo EJ22 turbo engines can also be discussed here.

Where did you tap in for boost gauge?

Tap the hose going to the stock dump valve.

I remember awhile back (2001) some were tapping the manifold hose in the front of the engine.

Thumbs up BOV line is the place.

I just installed a Greddy electronic Boost gauge and it was relatively easy.
Just make sure to get some hose clamps for the two parts of the bov line that you have cut. The Plastic Y fitting that comes with the kit fits a bit loose. And make sure to put the little brass restrictor into the Y fitting end that goes to the sensor(battery tie down bolt/post is good place to mount this).

cheers,
xom

You can tap at the BOV or at the manifold. There are some EBCs that like to tap at both places when doing boost limiting.

The difference is that you get a pressure differential because of the intercooler inbetween the two tapping points. The more accurate boost is actually in the manifold. "Accurate" here does not mean correct vs. incorrect. Accurate means that you are seeing more of the same pressure that that the head will see. That's what really counts anyhow.

Most tap from the BOV because boost will read a bit higher between the compressor and the intercooler than it will between the intercooler and he manifold. This is a safety measure, I'd guess. I.e. you're seeing a higher reading that the head is really experiencing.

Also, wire ties work great Small hoseclamps can be very hard to find.
