Anything with a bellmouth or an divorced wastegate will be fine for a downpipe.

What is your total budget for exhaust....it is easy to put together an 'economy' system that can be upgraded later.

On a budget I'd get the Stromung DP and use the stock last cat if needed or not....and go to a muffler shop and have them make a pipe to the axleback and buy a used axlback...like an STi take off....or something like that...

the best deal is the Helix combo . . . up and downpipe for 450 @ some shops. MPJPerformance.com and wrxhookup.com have that deal. Helix is one of the top down pipes because it had a belmouth and the helix up pipe is one of the best because it can flex.

The best aftermarket uppipe and downpipe that money can buy is probably the PDE. For $825, you can get a downpipe with a removable cat section. The PDE is engineered to fit under the stock heatshield (I had a catless one for a while, and it was beautiful). The PDE uppipe has a high-quality flex section, and also has a bracket that allows you to mount the stock bottom heatshield (most other uppipes don't have this).

Of course, you can get the Helix Uppipe and Downpipe for like half the cost of the cheapest PDE setup...

do not get the HKS downpipe pipe unless they have redesigned the inlet to be bellmouth, originally it was a flat plate design....

get a bellmouth or divorsed wastegate design...

if the uppipe is properly designed the a flex piece is not needed.... the flex piece only causes more turbulence in the exhaust flow....

from the pic posted the pde downpipe is also a flat plate design....

I love my maddad divorced WG catted DP, with 3CE and 3"halfback(pretty much a stealthback). Still reasonably quiet although I do get some decent afterfiring because of my rice whistle(BOV) http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/prod...3&cat=5&page=1 I didn't pay that much though because I was the first customer to get their newer metal substrate cat. You can get just the DP as well.

HKS bar none

hehe i have that one.

about that dad DP i dont see how the cats ensure proper air fuel ratio. the air fuel ration sensor isnt the second O2. that one makes sure your cat is working. and i also dont see how a heat shield protects from road debris. i mean its hard to get stuff up over teh pipe and have it inbetween the chasis and pipe. i dont think that a heat sheild after teh O2 sensor is gonig to protect anything

I agree but I think it's really there to look like a stock cat for the 5-0 factor.

I'd get this one if I had the money, but the only gripe I have with it is how it tapers at the exhaust port on the turbo(circled in red)... Wierd?
