Wagon Exhaust Drone?

Hey Guys,

I'm looking into getting either a Stromung catback 2.5'' singletip or a Prodrive axelback. Does anybody on here have either of these on your wagons? Do you notice a drone while driving along the highway? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Joyce

Suggestions I can do... Not sure of highway drone on the Stromung... The Prodrive axleback is relatively quiet...

I SUGGEST looking into the Borla Hush catback... It's the quietest one out there with great performance gains, I've heard nothing but good things about it, and I love it myself as well, I've seen many many many exhausts... I think Borla is the single route to go if you plan on upgrading to a UP/DP in the future, given that youre in CA... It keeps the police at bay and not noticing your car... And you can still have some fun with your car without putting a spotlight on yourself

Hope that helps!

True about the Borla, especially in CA, but unless you're going completely catless, the Prodrive is still pretty quiet. I've got it with a catless UP, and it's a nice bump in sound without being obnoxious. No higway droning at all, and I drive about 15 highway miles one way in my commute each day, several multi-hour road trips. Not a drone in the bunch.

All the cats are in, probably for a while. I don't have any plans with UP or DP right now either, but definitely in the future.

Ok, so what do you guys think of a Strömung Dual-Tip 2.5" Turboback with a High Flow Cat in Down-Pipe?

Now youre talking replacing the DP which you said you werent interested in... haha, Trust me, if gets infection... The sound of the Stromung is pretty tame, but to ensure a level that wont be noted by cops, or sound overly racy, borla is the route to go... it sounds mean... its got a note that demands respect, while still being tame... Are you a spirited driver? Do you sometimes like to do a little 0-60 (I meant 0-40 :-D ) on the streets? If youre into that... go with the hush, b/c if you end up replacing the dp, which it sounds like youre gonna do anyway... almost all systems will be too loud.. Believe this, I've researched all the popular ones and Borla is the way to go. It's effective, sounds ballsy without being loud, and looks clean (almost stock, but beefier)

I personally never liked Borla, I come from a family of Mustangs, and I used to own a Civic and a Jetta... The name Borla wasnt very popular with me... I went Flowmaster (Mustang), or RS*R (civic)... Borla just never SOUNDED like a bad *** brand to me, or the brand to have... But i definitely give it up to Borla for the Hush, it is a wonderful exhaust IMHO...

I think more people view than respond, because we've pretty much covered your best options

Also, upgrading the DP, I highly recommend... Because its one of those, "while youre at it" things... powerwise, you wont benefit much just changing out the Cat Back... as there is a great deal of restriction PRIOR to it (i.e.: the Downpipe)... Helix makes a great catted one... there are other options available, but Helix is a personal favorite... great product, great price.

If you have any specific questions on the hush or other, feel free to leave me a PM, as I dont always recall the threads I've visited. Given you're in CA, we have the same issues to worry about, so in my research I've always considered these issues before looking into a product.

Enjoy
