Unichip piggyback chips are no longer used in Vishnu Stage kits, nor by any of the other top tuners, to my knowledge. Too many limitations when it comes to the Subaru ECU.

All current Vishnu Stage kits use EcuTek to reflash your factory ECU. Each time you move up in Stages, the ECU needs to be reflashed by Vishnu.

Alternatively, you can use Vishnu's XEDE piggyback which plugs into your factory ECU. You can tune this yourself with the (I think) included software, or you can download free XEDE maps for Vishnu's Stage kits from their site.

DeltaDash is data-logging software but can make general global changes to some tuning parameters, as well as enable a 'valet' feature in your EcuTek reflashed ECU.

See Vishnu Performance's site for details. Most of the info you seek is there.

Yeah I called. Seems like older customers are SOL for upgrading, and must pay an addition $650 for a remap, unichip is of course free. If Im to pay $1800 for an upgrade, I might just look elsewhere.

It would have been nice if they could have offered unichip users even a slight discount, IMHO.

The Unichip is hasn't been sold as part of the WRX Stage kits since early 2003.

if i buy a Vishnu stage 1 or 2 with this EcuTek do i got to pay more for a core or the price on the site covers a ecu thats remap by the EcuTek already?
The price indicated is for reflashing your ECU. I don't know if Vishnu Performance has ECUs on hand for exchange purposes.
