Question vibration noise at high rpm/load

under full throttle after 6k rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear... I hear this sheetmetal rattle kinda high pitch buzzzz coming from the front. the noise is becoming more consistant. What do you think this could be? any idea?

i've checked few external parts: shields, etc. but couldnt find exactly what's causing it. actually, i end up rev'g to redline more often just to check the noise is still there - and it is.

could it be due to a bad bearing in tranny? tech at the dealer told me one of bearings in tranny might be going bad, when i complained about some noise coming from clutch/tranny at idle (another issue)

i got it documented at the dealer, and now just patiently waiting for the call... they told me there will be a fix (replacement clutch/pressure plate) for the clutch shudder. BUT, for rattle noise at idle, they'll need to look into tranny.

funny thing is i dont hear the rattle in 1st and 4th (havent done 6k rpm in 5th, yet )

update...
the high pitch rattle noise was not a rattle but DETONATION!! (it sounded so different than older carbs... )
couple of days ago i got CEL'ed, then lost power over 3.5k rpm. this is after about 1-2mo's of hearing the 'rattle'.
At the dealer they found the source of my prob(s) to be faulty MAF. apparently, it caused poor air/fuel ratio causing CEL and lean condition at higher rpm.
of course, the MAF is not part of 'powertrain' so i had to pay over $300 for the part.(i have 48k mi.) I'm hoping i didn't damage the engine from running lean for last couple of months.

optimalrage,
if youre dealing with similar symptoms, make sure you check out the MAF.

I have velocity stack in place of intake silencer with ITG foam filter.

i experience this same sort of thing, but my buzzing is the 3500-4000 rpm range in 2nd and 3rd, maybe 4th......... the thing is ive noticed that it only does it when the engine is not under strain........ so without giving it gas....... with no feet on the pedals.......... once i engage the clutch the sound disappears........ last time i was at the dealership they couldnt make the car do it....... but it is somewhat of a nasty sound and the windows have to be up with no radio on to hear it...... they also couldnt figure out why i have such a problem gassing the car up....... every gas pump in Vegas clicks off every 15 cents worth of gas (this can be very annoying) and the dealership is telling me its my choice in gas stations and my imagination........ i think they just dont know how to fix this problem....... the funny thing is...... the gas staion closest to the dealership it doesnt do it on.... so i cant put the service manager in the car and drive there because itll make me look like an idiot...... has anyone else had this problem?

wizurd,
I think the buzzing youre talking about is just gear noise from tranny. it should be audible especailly in lower gears (1,2,3) when coasting - no gas. Once you step on clutch, youre taking load off tranny gears, so no noise. I wouldnt worry about it.

I had similar prob with gas tank, which was caused be clogged breather line, but that was with 8-yr old car.
