vf34 turbo and stock ecu???????
Ok, well looking through other forums I cannot seem to find much info on the possibility of a 04 wrx running a vf34 on stock ecu...so is it possible? I realize that most of the power will come with engine managment, but I got a deal on a vf34, 255lph fuel pump, and STi 550cc injectors that I could not pass up...as I had just purchased a Catless TBE and catless uppipe, HKS bov, and HKS tt I did not have the money for a new EMS. So for about 2 months would it be safe to run a vf34 on a stock ecu (no boost controller either). If not could someone please explain why....also...If you say it is possible, any proof or reasons why? THANKS!!!!

yea, I got a boost gauge, and am going to pick up a EGT gauge....Regarding doing it later....I am like a little boy on the day before Christmas looking at all the presents under the tree.......I WANT IT NOW!!! lol....seriously though, I live at an apartment and only have the ability to work on my car at my Grandmothers house and she is going on several trips in the next few months, and since I work wierd hours....24 hours on 48 hours off for Full time job and I have a part time job to pay for my cars (also have a G#% coupe that am modifing) I figured it would be about the only chance I had for a few weeks to put it on....any thing I should REALLY watch out for with doing this....will the stock ECU let boost get above 15 to 16 psi (boost creep?????) THANKS for the quick replies....

I wouldn't use it at all,
unless you have lots of restraint. I don't. I have a pnp VF34 waiting to go on when I get engine management. The wait will be worth it.

The injectors won't run well with the stock ECU at all.

There are many many reasons why you do not put this Turbo and other parts on before you get the reflash.
1. You will boost spike and fluctuate a lot, reason the ECU is nto calibrated for the new parts at all. They are quite a bit diffferent and the car will not run well at all.
2. You will ping, absolutely under just about any boost higher then 10PSI. This turbo flows a bit more air then the stocker. The car was nto tuned for this.
3. The injectors will cause the car to run very rich, which is good, but will also annoy the hell out of you with a lot of bogging.
4. You will not enjoy the car pretty much at all, until you get some sort of engine management. It will jerk, bounce, boost spike, boost fluctuate, fuel cut, ping, run rich, everything you can think of. In the end this is nto good for the engine.

In a nutshell put the pennies away and get it put together at the same time!
