Turboxs Stage II install...

I "know" that is the case...
-- that as ong as I go witht he standard settings stage II shouldn't really damage the car -- but I've got to let it sink in a while. My wife was completely cool with the purchase of the upgrade (I got the stuff for the "stealth turbo back" with the cat), but she told me that if I blew-up the engine, it was going to be the end of any of my car spending for a long while! So I blame my delay on a fear of the unknown as well as a fear of my wife if I were to f-something-up...
That being said, a good friend of mine is coming into town in the middle of next month. He's a serious motorhead (put himself through school by buying good-looking older BMWs and COMPLETELY overhauling them and reselling them), and has volunteered to help me with the Stage II install. I've got about 5 weeks to convince myself that it's the right thing to do. Until then, I've got $1700 in parts sitting idly in my garage...

I'm with Razor, while you're in there do the uppipe too. Other than that the rest is cake. Just make sure you do new gaskets on the uppipe. If you're planning on a EGT gauge now would be the time to tap the manifold. Good luck with the install, you should be pretty happy with the outcome. BTW check out www.wrxhackers.com for some help on the UTEC, there'a alot of good info over there.-James

The stage 2 kit was a breeze a friend and I did it in just a few hours. I do recomend using a lift it was alot easier. The only problems I ran into was the O2 sensor was crossthreaded from the factory and it was a pain in the *** to get it out of the old midpipe. I cleaned the threads up on the O2 sensor and was luckly able to get it to work.
