The turbo sound! Ooooh the turbo soud
I am running the TXS stealth with cat and the bpm Twister3 muffler. The exhaust note is a little loud for me. When I had just the stealth it was a little bit louder than stock. IMO I would go with your choice of engine managment first. I saw more of a gain all around with my UTEC than I did with the exhaust. The exhaust really helped with spooling the turbo. Of all the exhausts that I have installed I like the TXS one the best.

TSX + Prodrive
I installed a TSX Stealth Back on a friend’s car with a Prodrive muffler. Very Nice Deep Tone and not too loud inside (or outside) the car. He topped it off with the TSX up-pipe and a UTEC, he makes 235 WHP on pump gas (93) and 245WHP on race gas (100) with the stock turbo and intercooler. TSX products are top shelf in my book.

The leaded gas will clog the cats and shorten the life of the O2 sensors dramaticly.

If you are looking to up the octane rating of your fuel look into either Metanol or toulene.
Here is some info on Methanol: http://www.turbofast.com.au/racefuel13.html
Here is some info on Toulene: http://www.elektro.com/~audi/audi/toluene.html
Search the net for more info. Those two links should get you started. Just remember that once you start mixxing your own fuel you will be addicted to it.

Mix your own fuel at your own risk!!! Had a friend of mine that got seriously burnt (2nd and 3rd deg burns on half of his body) from that foolishness. There are stations out there that sell Unleaded Competition Fuel 100 Octane and up. Please, let’s be safe out there!

I am thinking about getting a TXS turbo-back, with a blitz nur spec axleback. My question is, should i go catless? What are the advantages and disadvantages. Also i am looking at a UTEC. What gains in power am i looking at? And finally should this amount of power satisfy me for awhile while i proceed to upgrade the suspension and body?
thanks

I recently installed the TurboXS turbo back exhaust and I think that it gives you some nice power gains in the mid to high end, plus the sound of the boxer is unleashed. I also wrapped the downpipe with some header wrap to help eliminate some of that radiated heat since I removed the heat shield from the turbo. I noticed before I installed the wrap on the downpipe that the intercooler was signifigantly hotter than when I had the stock exhaust on. Since I installed the wrap the intercooler has been much cooler and I have noticed more of a power gain with the TurboXS exhaust.

Nato: Power is nothing without control! Tune the suspension, brakes and tiers FIRST! Than do your power mods.
As for how much you can get? See my earlier post; that is with one cat. Going catless will add 20 to 25 WHP. But, you would have to put the stock exhaust back on to pass smog cert. But, you could run a system with two hi flow cats and possibly pass with a little help from the UTEC.

I have wheels and tires, and am going to get a set of tein flex coilovers soon. I am waiting on brakes because they are so damn expensive. I dont care about replacing my exhaust to stock, to pass emissions. WIth that said, what is better, catless, or one highflow cat?
