Turbo wrap vrs heat shield, Questions
Just looking for some comments on the effects on turbo life, under hood temp, effeciancy, ect. I have purchased DFI Turbo Wrap but after I ordered it I found two heat sheilds had been put on the market and was wondering about the pros and cons of each. I have a turbo timer and my up pipe and down pipe have been wrapped in header tape, I'm also using a larg TMI. Curntly the Turbo is exposed(it's a stock unit). Thanks.

If you get a turboxs downpipe, putting a heat wrap on it will void the warranty by turboxs since the wrap traps moisture. With that in mind, i'm not sure you want to wrap your turbo. I have a heatshield by speedmonkey.com which fits even though i've got a downpipe. Check it out, you might like it.

I forgot to mention I used a water proof sealant. That way the exhaust wrap won't trap watter and rust. But thats a valuble point to bring up, thanks.
I dont think I need to worry to mutch about the turbo as I would use a turbo wrap that is not like header tape but kind of like a a woven silver towl held in place by sainless steel ties. Not to mention that the turbo will only be wrapped on the exhaust side and its a thick unit that will take a long time to rust though. Ideally the wrap will help spool up/throttle response and lower my under bonnet temp. yet I want to know if a heat sheild might be a better5 option under certain circumstances and the pros and cons of both.
I looked at speedmonkey but I dont see anything about car parts.
