Turbo inlet hose

Which turbo inlet hose is good. I'm torn between AVO and Samco.
Did you notice or have dyno results from you swap?
Does perrin compare to the two above?
Will it really help my stage4?
Thanks.

seems like a lot of people like the samco hoses.

Neither. That particular hose doesn't make any difference, it's expensive, and it's way too much of a pain to install.

Difficult to install? Yes, somewhat. Worth it? Yes, not so much for HP but for durability. I replaced mine with a Samco because my stock one was melting right at the turbo inlet, I've seen the same thing happen to other cars as well to the point that the hose tears (the clamp cuts through it once it has softened enough).
I can't say I've noticed any power gains but I don't have to worry about this hose falling apart now.

Everything on the WRX is a PITA to install. Installation for me is not a problem, heck I swapped out the fuel rail already.
I will eventually swap out the turbo inlet hose. What I want to get out of this thread is the result of using Samco/AVO hoses.
Maybe I should of been more detailed with the top post.
So what do you suggest BAN SUVS? Did you swap yours out and which one?

Thanks for you 2 pennies.

To be fair to you, I can't really give an opinion on which of the two hoses you asked about is better, but I imagine they would perform very, very similarly. The reasons why I don't recommend them at all are largely explained in this post. Also, I don't have a WRX- I have a 2001 RS. However, I'm in the process of building a turbo motor for it, and I will be using a complete stock WRX intake. Obviously, installation is not a factor in that choice. I just feel that the cost of those hoses isn't justified by by the gains I don't believe them to make. That is all.

Point well taken! That is some great, awesome explaination. HMMM.... makes me wonder now whether to do this swap or not.

I ended up getting a Samco turbo inlet hose for my car.

Why did I get the turbo inlet hose replaced? Becuse the OEM unit basically has to be destroyed to take it off, and I'd like to be able to take off the TI hose to get at the turbo inlet for things like tech inspections at rallies. I didn't get it for any perceived performance advantage, it's just easier to take off than the stocker.

Why did I get a Samco? That's what MPJ mainly carries, and they're my shop.

I have the Perrin and it does help spool and smooths out power delivery. It also replaces a stock piece which is prone to MELT(I've seen one melted).

The AVO and the identical MRT are one silicone piece replacing the entire hose from the turbo to the MAF sensor mount. This would be even better than the others. If I were to have it to do again I would buy one of these. In a minute.
Every bit helps and this was as noticeable as the silicone intercooler hose was, or even more so.
Doesn't do anything????
I think it does, and the more modded your engine, the more it helps.
