and here's the sensor: Sensor
Here's what the TGV looks like: eBay TGV
There's one on each side of your motor located between the intake manifold and the heads of the engine. When looking at each side, the TGV motor will always be on the right and the sensor on the left. These sensors are very prone to breaking/cracking over time and not letting the ECU see that the TGV is actually open or not, so there's no feedback as if the motors arent working right, and it'll throw a CEL.
Bad thing is, you cant order these sensors from the dealership. You'll have to substitute them with a TPS and that's $80+ new.
Good thing is, I mod TGVs, so I have a bunch of these used sensors laying around and I can ship a couple if you'd pay for shipping.

Okay, so its been a good two week since the light turned off on its own... So, now i'm wondering if it is actually okay and the CEL was jut a fluke... I dunno, but i did get a chance to take a look at the sensors. They seems okay, I didn't see any thing wrong looking or any cracks. Anyways I took some picture for you guys to take a look just in case there is something wrong with them.

Hey I know this is an old topic but I just got myself a 02 wrx and this code came up as well P1086. I wanted to know if the TPS trick really works? I got a few codes that popped up P0508, P0037, P0031, P0108 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
