Throttle body polishing
I did a port and polish on the throttle body for my truck and I found some real gains in performance on the top end. Although the throttle body's are very different in design and my truck's was very poorly made for its usage.
I was wondering if any one else has done this or if the factory casting was smooth enough not to need it. Or if it is a worthless mod because of the design. I don't mind wasting my time on free mods as long as they will actually show a gain in performance.
Just wondering?

yes and no
well yes the benefits are there. But top end gains
would be difficult to feel with butt dyno. But anything
you do to improve flow, helps with engine efficiency.
Which means more power and mileage gains.
but if you do this it will Automatically put you into
street modified class for auto crossing.
my 2 cents..by the way i have this already done
to my "stock" throttle body.

yes, but if you've got the tools, this one is free.
it improves part throttle response, i've found.
i also shaved down the shaft about a mm on both top and bottom, and ground off the extra bolt threads.
carefully knife-edge the non-seating corners of the butterfly.
also bevel the leading edge of the flange which connects to the IC->TB hose.
also remove your IC elbows and smooth them over, and bevel their leading edges.
