Stock Turbo efficency range

Hey i am a former dsmer, getting into the subie game. I was curious how far the stock turbo in the wrx can go, boost wise. Obviously w/ other supporting, i.e. bolt ons and UTEC, what could i do? The reason i ask, i want to keep my warranty w/ out having issues of slapping a larger turbo in there. Subie would void if per say a vf34 or something of that nature was put in correct? thanks, people.

As a rough estimate, the TD04 is good for up to ~225 awhp. Actual numbers vary a lot, its common to see 210+, and rare to see one over 230. A stock WRX usually puts down 160-170, depending on the dyno, temp, octane, etc.....

Most Subaru dealers will deny warranty claims for anything in the driveline if they know you've had a UTEC, reflash, mbc, or anything else that "changes the calibration" of the engine.

Once you decide the warranty isn't worth the frustration of keeping it stock, check out Deadbolt, they make lots of people happy with their turbos:
