Starter?

I just looked and I did not see the Starter for the WRX. Where is the Starter located at on the WRX? If you have any pictures that would be great too.

At the rear of the engine, under the intercooler.

Thanks, I will look for it tonight. I am putting a PowerLock security system on my car and there is a part that conects to the starter that kills the starter. Will I have to remover the intercooler to get to the starter?

You can probably do it without removing the IC by moving some other stuff out of the way, but the IC is fairly easy to remove. There really isn't any need to wire a cutoff to the starter directly anyway since the wiring for the starter solenoid can be accessed from inside the car, you can use the same connections provided for the factory security system (which has a starter cutoff). It would help if you obtained the factory wiring manual before digging into this, you can go to http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/index.jsp and download it (and the rest of the manual as well if you want) for about $20.

That is great. I did not know about that page. So are the PDF just the same as what you would get if you went and got all the service manual books? Nothing is left out? If so I will have to do that for $20 and start my printer to printing. I have wanted the books but for all of then it is just too much.

Yes, it's the same as the hardcopy manuals. It's just a bit of work because you have to download all the sections separately and it takes a lot of time, but well worth the effort for the $$ savings.
