Single Tip vs. Dual Tip

Due to what seems to be an increase of cops pulling people over for exhaust here in the Bay Area I have started looking at dual tips alittle more. It seems like this would be a little less attractive to the pigs eye. Is there any performance differences between, lets say, an 3" single tip APS TBE and a 3" dual tip APS TBE?

It seemed like dual tipped exhausts were very popular on sports cars in the 80's, than in the 90's to recent i've seen more singled tips. I believe that certain cars perform better with dual tips and others benefit from a single tip. Since the stock wrx 02-04 came with a dual tip i decided to get the borla hush, to keep the dual. I'd say to its what u perfer in looks, because performance differences would probably be too small to notice. The fact your running a turbo back will be the BIG difference. Hope that helps.

If you are not trying to get noticed by rookie pigs that would
rather pull you over than the real criminals you should just get
a quiet aftermarket catback exhaust like the Borla "hush" catback
or the Greddy SP2 catback they are both very quiet compaired to
alot of the other aftermarket catback exhausts out there.
I would say get a dual tip exhaust because it will probably be quieter.
All in all stock is the quietest.Keep your eyes out for the pigs they are
everywhere.

I agree dual or single, they usually pull u over for the fat can or noise cuz most of the time they dont even know what they're looking at.

I have the borla hush with an uppipe and catless downpipe. At idle its slightly louder than stock, but the main difference is in the tone, its a lot deeper. I've had a number of cops stop and look at it, and then go along their way. Actually, one guy stopped and looked at it while it was on which made me nervoud because of the catless smell and then he started to go, stopped and backed up 3 car lengths to look again, and then started to go, and then stopped and backed up again to talk to us (2 guys on the side of the street talking at 2 AM). I'd say its a pretty god non-popo-attention-getting exhaust.

im pretty set on the APS, but definetly intriqued by the borla. I assume you will get more gains from the APS? What kind of gains did you guys get with your Borlas?

I totaly agree MBasile the Borla "Hush" catback is a great exhaust
for the money if you are looking for something a tad louder than stock.
MBasile thanks for the clip your car sounds great in my opnion very
tastefull. The gains I have seen on a dyno with just a catback exhaust
was 5-10 whp to be honest. The Borla catback exhaust is really good
quality and perfect fitment from what I hear.

From the clip MBasile post, I am decided on the "hush" when the time comes. if you don't mind the louder ones, and for twin tip, I like the way this one look. it's staggered tips contouring the rear bumper
