Should I keep my WRX?

Should I keep my WRX?
my '03 WRX has 147K miles and is starting to break my bank. I'm not mechanically inclined and have a good shop to do the work it needs at $95/hr labor. I've changed oil, done tune-ups when it should be done. It's alway gone thru oil, about an extra quart every 1k-1.5k mile but more so lately. It's recently had a new water pump, catalytic converter, belts, timing tensioner, fluids changed, everything else checked. It's also got a new clutch/plate, radiator, the drive line has had some work, brakes are good Now I'm told it has a burnt valve and the pistons need to be rebored. I probably have the wrong kind of car considering I can't do the work myself but have LOVED driving it all these years. What are the chances it will keep running problem free now after all this work or is there more major stuff gonna go wrong cuz of all the miles on the car.

Yeah, I've pretty much decided it's time to sell. I'll ask my car guy what a "new" engine would run me but there's still the transmission and whatever else eventually. Blue book is about $7500, it also has a nearly new touch screen navi/bluetooth/dvd system in it worth at least $1K. I bought it with a short shifter, turbo gauge, and an upgraded sound with subwoofer and tweeters also. My car is the bright blue sedan style. The body's in excellent shape, the interior has some wear/stain thanks to my family. I love my car but am an "older" female, not connected to the subie/wrx scene. What would a younger guy looking for a great driving, well maintained car like this pay?

if you can afford a newer car i'd say go that route. Its always nice not having to worry about your car. Since your not into the scene anymore don't really need the car. Unless you just love the turbo and the awd. if not go with something else. i'm about to sell my 04 sti as well just cause its getting old.

Was having issues with my WRX a while ago so I finally got fed up with everything and bit the bullet and sold it. Don't keep putting money into your money pit! Anyway, I used that money and used it as a down payment and now I'm driving an STi. Totally worth it IMO.

I hope I don't regret it but I'm gonna drive it for a few more months and pay off what I owe on it then find something newer with fewer miles. Seriously, faraco3, only 5K? Hope I can get more than that out of it!

heh i'd say just keep it..because should the block go out..they aren't that much to replace. given that your not mechanically inclined you can ask local iclubbers..im sure they will help you out. Plus it gives you a chance to learn about your car before moving to another car..
or just sell it...
or just sell it...
