Shortram Intake and running lean
Hi. Awhile back I bought the Blitz SUS intake (shortram) and there wasn't much on forums about shortram intakes and running lean. Now I come back to the forums and I notice that everyone is talking about shortram intakes and how running too lean is bad for the engine. My question is, does shortram intake (particularly the one I have) make the car run lean to the point where it would severely damage my car? I already know CAIs are bad but I heard that shortram intakes are ok. I perfer keeping the intake on but if it's going to cause too much damage I might as well go back to stock. Sorry if this question has already been answered in the forum but I've read several posts already and people don't really talk about shortram intakes, they mostly bash on CAIs. =P BTW I haven't flashed or remapped the ECU (or whatever) to account for the change or to fix the MAF sensor readings.

From what cobb says the Blitz intake system is the most unpredictable to the ECU, so from that I'd say that if your ecu doesn't know how to read the incoming air, then it's not worth having, unless you like cool noises and performance isn't your thing.
