i had kartboy exhaust hangers holding up my greddy evo for over a year and now my muffler has a hole in it from the hangers being too stiff.

friend of mine had the same thing happen to his hks exhaust using kartboy hangers.

my opinion, they are too stiff and don't allow any movement so choose carefully!

My Greddy Evo has been on the stock hangars for about 10k miles and I haven't had any rattles yet! *knocks on wood*

I just want to know how you got a hole in your muffler? I don't get how having stiff exhaust hangers causes the muffler to get a hole? Do the stiffend kartboy exhaust hangers hold the exhaust to close to something so there is rubbing? Or do you mean that you have an exhaust leak at one of the junctions between the exhaust and the cat?

I've had kartboys on for a year with no issues. I'm trying out the long kartboys right now. So far so good. I can kinda see how the hangers being too stiff might over time develop some undue stress somewhere...

Likewise I would be interested too, we have installed plenty of systems with the KB's including 30k plus on our test vehicle (which is well abused) with no ill effects to date.

May be a hanger broke off from mid-pipe and leaving a hole behind?

I can understand how too stiff hangars might cause more stress on an axleback, however i'm not sure how a hole could be caused. If i got a hole, i'd be more concerned with the muffler/hanger/weld quality than blame the hangers.
