Review on my WORX BOV - not that good :(
OK, all the hype on NASIOC is the WORX BOV. I caved and bought one and installed it today. Great bov and smooth between shifts, but 2 issues.
1) Fitment
It was tough to get the plumb back elbow back into the triangular space (between the manifold and IC). True that it rotates, but not enough and I had to scrape the plub back part right up against the manifold to get the bolts on. Also the top part of the BOV will sightly bend the bar on top of the IC cooler a bit and you may need to unscrew the middle screw. No damage done tho. This took me 30 min just to get in ntil I finally decided to force it into place without damag tho.
2) Boost Flutter
Instead of the expected "PSSSHHHH", I got the flutter "psh-psh-psh" that sounded so weird. But I hear that there was batch of defective springs and that they will send out new ones that will fix this problem. I hope I get a reply soon. Also, it was hard to get it to vent to atm in neutral and need to rev it to 5000rpm. Apparently, if I loosen the spring, I can set it to vent to atm more easily.
All in all, it doesn't deserve the hype it has been getting. Fitment issues need to be dealt with for more easy install. AND when they send me my spring, then I may consider keeping this BOV.

Car Info: Random, yet well planed selection of jdm cult cars
thanks for the info... i dont really think i would trust anything from works. something just seems funny. be careful wth that bov, make sure that the flutter noise inst compressor surge.

I had the exact same prob with the spring, I was not happy at all with compressor stall. I received a replacement spring and it made a heck of a difference. I also cleaned and lubed the bov when I replaced the spring with no probs since. I did not have a fitment issue utilizing the TurboXS FMIC and the worx's BOV clears the intake mainfold unlike the TurboXS Type H (just touches no matter how I adjust the piping).

yeah, I'm still awaiting reply on the spring from WORX Tuning. Goto to their website and eamil them about the flutter. They should be good about giving you a free replacement.

Once you get your new spring put in and let that baby get broke in, it might be a whole new ball game. Give it time and then repost on how it's going. I would like to know myself.

I have run the Worx valve on my WRX and my STi. I would HIGHLY disagree with aznfoos. It works flawlessly with every shift. You wouldnt have had fitment issues if you had removed the breather line and removed the intercooler bolts (as per the instructions!!!). And if you do read the thread on NASIOC then you would know that they had a few valves ship with incorrect springs. In fact you have posted there too, and unless you dont read before you post, would know this. You say you contacted them about a spring, but was it during the Thanksgiving holiday? I am sure they will take care of you. You don't need to come here and talk trash. Not very mature.

SorryOfficer: it is my experience... i give praise when it is deserved. The product is currently defective and in my car - that is the bottom line. Don't comment on my maturity. If they send me a spring and it fixes the problem, then OK.
BTW, I bought it used so the instructions I got were over the net. I still haven't gotten a response.

Well, if everyone is entitled to their opinions, then my opinion stands. If he recieved the instructions via the web, then they must have sent it to him right? It is not on their site. And if he had the instructions and READ them, he would have had a much easier time installing it. I am looking at mine right now and it does say to remove the breather line during install, and it does say that loosening the intercooler bolts may be necessary. Sounds like gripe #1 is invalid. #2 sucks, but they are replacing the springs, so if you did contact them, I am sure you will get one. No reply? Well I guess you don't have Thanksgiving in Canada. Sorry, but a lot of companys are closed during the holidays. If you don't get an instant responce, pitch a fit on the web because that acomplishes everything. All I am saying is that I and several of my friends have had dealings with them and they are super cool. I am sure they will take care of you even though you bought it used (which the previous owner could have f'd up). Give them a chance to take care of it, and if they don't, then talk trash.
Thats all I have to say.
Thats all I have to say.

OK, I got a response from WORX tuning today. They say that they will replace the spring. I will update you when I get it and have it installed. I have promised to ask this thread to be changed when AND if the spring is good.
SorryOfficer: First impressions are everything. Defective parts will invariably detract from the reputation of your products. WORX made a mistake. They should replace the defective BOV's, but they are sending new springs which will require more labor onb my part. I'm sure HKS or Blitz or Forge have not had these quality control problems, AND if they did, they would gladly replace them free of charge. I realize that WORX is a small company tho, and I accept the fact that they do not have the resources to replace their products. Fine, but facts are facts and all reviews (unfortunately) are not good. If you like, write your own review; enough said.
