Reversed Intake Manifold

Reversed Intake Manifold
What is the purpose of the reversed intake manifold? Does it provide any power improvements? Convenience for custom intercoolers? I have seen several of these mods, even on Imprezer's car. (Stole your pic for reference Alex, hope ya don't mind)

The purpose is:
1. Shorter ic piping
2. less bends in piping (mine is done on the after IC side, pre IC side still under construction)
3. Creates more room in the engine bay.
4. Ultimate pimp factor...

Mechanically, it bolts right on. You cannot use stock fuel rails and the harness needs to be flipped and some connectors extended. I also removed AC, but you could keep it and have the pipe loop over it. Not as pimp as without AC. I had to remove mine, because I am running a huge 75mm Edelbrock throttle body.

ooo so u can basically just turn it around with some minor fabrications? in that case its pretty cool and i guess with custom intercooler piping for a front mount it would decrease turbo lag right? im thinking of gettin the vf34 setup with an injen fmic because its smaller than other front mounts. what do u think alex, any pros n cons that you know of with this intercooler? p.s. sorry if i just hijacked the thread with that question.
